Fort William Rotary Satellite Club - What is a Satellite Club?
click to print this pageprint this page

In 2011 Rotary International launched the Satellite Club Pilot Project in response to feedback that younger Rotarians required flexibility in their Rotary club membership. The pilot’s purpose is to research alternatives and options to club operations and the overall impact on membership trends, effectiveness, and success within the four elements of an effective club.

Fort William Rotary Club submitted a proposal to have a Satellite Club as part of their Club. The Satellite Club meets separately (Monday evenings) and uses a less formal approach to meetings and focuses its attention on hands-on projects to community groups and its own projects, both locally and internationally. The Satellite Club also assists the main Fort William Rotary Club with some their projects.

We currently rotate the chairperson monthly. Members have a "Lucky Loonie" event where we members can donate a dollar or two to express their luck in the past week or to ask for luck!
